OUR NAMES

Garage Musicals was formed as a hybrid between a Film Studio and a Record Label.  We see ourselves as either a Film Studio with an A&R Department or as a Record Label with a Story Department.  Whichever the case, we have both.

Our mission is to combine organic song-writing with original stories.  While this focus may be a niche, it's actually quite broad.  Our inspirations range from rock operas and concept records such as "Jesus Christ Superstar" and "Tommy," to musicals like "West Side Story" and "Grease" to films with organic soundtracks such as "Harold & Maude" and “The Graduate."  We believe all of these could be called "Garage Musicals."

Our name refers to the spirit of the garage band fused with the spectacle of musicals.
